These Terms & Conditions apply to participation in Salish Snow Sports programs and use of salishsnowsports.com.
By registering a child for Salish Snow Sports, a parent or legal guardian acknowledges and agrees to these Terms & Conditions, along with any additional waivers, releases, policies, transportation rules, and requirements applicable to the program.
Salish Snow Sports operates under Stronger Towns, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and works with independent partners including transportation providers, Stevens Pass Ski & Ride School, Vail Resorts/EpicPass, and other community organizations.
Program Eligibility
Salish Snow Sports is a youth ski and snowboard program serving students in East Jefferson County.
Eligibility requirements, age and grade requirements, transportation options, and program capacity may vary by season and are published as part of the current registration information.
Registration is subject to available space and completion of all required forms, payments, waivers, releases, and third-party registration requirements.
Salish Snow Sports reserves the right to establish reasonable participation requirements necessary for the safety and successful operation of the program.
Registration and Payment
Registration with Salish Snow Sports reserves space in a limited-capacity program.
Families are responsible for completing Salish Snow Sports registration and paying all applicable program tuition according to the payment schedule selected at registration.
Families may also be required to make separate purchases directly from Stevens Pass, EpicPass.com, Stevens Pass Ski & Ride School, or other third-party providers for items such as lessons, lift access, passes, or equipment rentals.
Salish Snow Sports does not control the pricing, payment policies, refund policies, availability, deadlines, or terms established by these independent organizations.
No Refund Policy
All Salish Snow Sports tuition and registration payments are non-refundable.
When a student registers, Salish Snow Sports begins reserving and committing funds for transportation, insurance, staffing, program administration, supplies, and other operating expenses based on expected enrollment. Many of these costs are incurred in advance and cannot be recovered if an individual participant later withdraws.
For this reason, Salish Snow Sports does not provide refunds, prorated tuition, credits, or reimbursement for missed program days or participant withdrawals, including but not limited to:

Illness or injury

Family schedule conflicts
-
Vacations or travel
-
A student’s decision not to continue

Missed transportation or late arrival
-
Missed lessons
-
School, athletic, extracurricular, or family commitments

Weather conditions that a family personally determines are unsuitable

Changes in a family’s personal circumstances
Families should consider the commitment required for the full program before registering.
Purchases made directly through Stevens Pass, EpicPass.com, Vail Resorts, Ski & Ride School, rental providers, or other third parties are governed by those organizations’ respective cancellation and refund policies. Salish Snow Sports cannot issue refunds for payments made to another organization.
Missed Saturdays
Salish Snow Sports is structured as a multi-week program, and consistent attendance is strongly encouraged.
This is particularly important during the first two Saturdays of the program, especially for beginning skiers and snowboarders. Lessons build upon skills introduced during previous weeks, and a beginner who misses an early lesson may have difficulty safely and successfully rejoining their assigned group.
If a participant misses an early lesson, Stevens Pass Ski & Ride School may determine that additional instruction is necessary before the student can rejoin the group. If individual or supplemental instruction is required, the family may be responsible for arranging and paying for that instruction.
More experienced skiers and riders may be less affected by a missed lesson, depending on their ability level and assigned group.
We understand that children get sick and family conflicts happen. Students are generally welcome to return the following week when appropriate, but missed Saturdays are not eligible for refunds, credits, or prorated tuition.
Weather, Road Conditions and Program-Wide Cancellations
Travel to a mountain environment involves unpredictable weather, road, avalanche, and operating conditions.
Safety decisions may be made by Salish Snow Sports, our transportation partners, Stevens Pass, Washington State transportation authorities, or other appropriate officials.
A program Saturday may be delayed, modified, or canceled because of circumstances including:

Unsafe road or weather conditions

Transportation staffing or operational issues

Ferry disruptions
-
Highway closures or restrictions
-
Avalanche control or mountain safety operations
-
Stevens Pass closures or operational changes
-
Severe weather
-
Natural disasters
-
Government orders
-
Other circumstances outside the reasonable control of Salish Snow Sports
When possible, Salish Snow Sports may attempt to use a scheduled make-up date for a canceled program Saturday. A make-up day is not guaranteed.
Because transportation and other program expenses may already have been incurred or committed, program-wide cancellations do not automatically entitle participants to a refund, credit, or prorated tuition.
Transportation
Participation may include transportation provided by school districts, transportation contractors, ferry systems, or other independent transportation providers.
Participants must follow all transportation rules and instructions provided by drivers, chaperones, transportation personnel, ferry personnel, and Salish Snow Sports.
Transportation schedules are subject to traffic, ferry operations, road conditions, weather, mechanical issues, and other circumstances beyond the control of Salish Snow Sports.
Families are responsible for having participants at designated departure locations on time. A participant who misses the bus may miss that day’s program and will not receive a refund or credit.
Participant Conduct
Salish Snow Sports expects participants to behave respectfully and safely toward fellow students, volunteers, instructors, transportation personnel, resort employees, and members of the public.
Participants must follow instructions from Salish Snow Sports staff and volunteers, bus drivers, ski and snowboard instructors, ski patrol, resort personnel, and other responsible adults.
Behavior that threatens safety or substantially disrupts the program may result in disciplinary action, including restrictions on transportation or removal from the program.
Examples may include bullying, harassment, discriminatory or threatening language, fighting, possession of prohibited substances or items, repeated refusal to follow safety instructions, unsafe behavior, or serious disruption on buses, ferries, or at the resort.
Removal or suspension from Salish Snow Sports because of participant conduct does not entitle the family to a refund or credit.
Ski & Snowboard Instruction
Lessons are provided by Stevens Pass Ski & Ride School and are subject to Stevens Pass and Vail Resorts policies, instructor availability, group placement requirements, and operating conditions.
Salish Snow Sports does not employ or independently supervise Stevens Pass instructors and cannot guarantee a particular instructor, group placement, lesson format, terrain selection, or individual student’s progression.
Students are expected to participate in their assigned lessons unless an alternative arrangement has been specifically approved.
Lift Access, Passes and Rentals
Families are responsible for obtaining any required lift ticket, pass, lesson package, rental equipment, or other products identified in the registration instructions.
These products may be purchased separately from Salish Snow Sports tuition and may be governed by separate agreements with Stevens Pass, EpicPass.com, Vail Resorts, or other providers.
Salish Snow Sports cannot guarantee third-party pricing or availability and is not responsible for missed purchase deadlines, incorrect pass purchases, lost passes, rental charges, or other transactions made directly with third-party providers.
Families are responsible for carefully reviewing third-party purchases before completing them.
Equipment and Helmets
Participants are responsible for arriving with appropriate clothing and required equipment unless rentals or other arrangements have been made.
Helmets are required for Salish Snow Sports participants while skiing or snowboarding.
Families are responsible for ensuring that personally owned or independently rented equipment is appropriate and properly fitted.
Personal equipment may be lost, stolen, damaged, or misplaced during transportation or program activities. Salish Snow Sports cannot guarantee the security of personal belongings and is not responsible for ordinary loss or damage to personal equipment except to the extent required by applicable law.
Inherent Risks of Skiing and Snowboarding
Skiing, snowboarding, mountain recreation, and travel to and from mountain environments involve inherent risks.
These may include changing snow and weather conditions, falls, collisions, terrain features, trees, rocks, ice, chairlifts and other equipment, other skiers and riders, altitude, cold exposure, road travel, and other hazards associated with winter recreation.
Participation may require families to complete separate assumption-of-risk agreements, releases, waivers, or acknowledgments through Salish Snow Sports, Stronger Towns, Stevens Pass, Vail Resorts/EpicPass, transportation providers, or other organizations.
These Terms & Conditions do not replace any separately required waiver or release.
Injuries and Emergency Response
If a participant becomes injured or ill during the program, Salish Snow Sports volunteers or representatives may seek assistance from Stevens Pass Ski Patrol, resort personnel, emergency medical services, transportation personnel, or other appropriate responders.
Parents and guardians are responsible for providing accurate emergency contact information and promptly updating Salish Snow Sports if that information changes.
Families are responsible for medical expenses or other costs associated with treatment or emergency response except where otherwise provided by applicable insurance coverage or law.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions should be interpreted as a representation or guarantee that a particular injury, accident, medical expense, transportation incident, or other loss is covered by insurance.
Parent and Guardian Responsibilities
By registering a participant, the parent or guardian agrees to:

Provide accurate registration and emergency information

Complete required waivers and third-party registrations

Make required payments by published deadlines

Ensure the participant has appropriate clothing and equipment

Review program schedules and communications

Ensure timely arrival for transportation

Discuss program and transportation expectations with their child

Notify Salish Snow Sports of information reasonably necessary for safe participation

Be reasonably available for emergency communication during program days
Parents and guardians are encouraged to ask questions before registration if they are unsure whether the program is appropriate for their child.
Program Changes
Salish Snow Sports may modify schedules, transportation arrangements, group structures, meeting locations, procedures, policies, or other operational details when reasonably necessary for safety, program operations, transportation requirements, resort requirements, or circumstances outside our control.
We will make reasonable efforts to communicate significant changes to participating families.
Third-Party Organizations
Salish Snow Sports works collaboratively with other organizations but does not control the independent operations of StrongerTowns, school districts, transportation providers, ferry operators, Stevens Pass, Vail Resorts/EpicPass, Ski & Ride School, equipment providers, or other third parties.
Participation may therefore be subject to additional terms, policies, releases, waivers, and requirements established by those organizations.
Website Information
We make reasonable efforts to keep information on salishsnowsports.com accurate and current. However, schedules, pricing, resort policies, pass products, transportation arrangements, and other program details may change.
When there is a conflict between general website information and specific instructions provided to registered families for the current season, the most recent program communication should generally be followed.
Families are encouraged to contact Salish Snow Sports if they are unsure about a requirement before making a purchase or commitment.
Privacy
Personal information collected through our website and program registration is handled in accordance with the Salish Snow Sports Privacy Policy and, where applicable, the privacy policies of our third-party service providers.
Acceptance of Terms
By registering a participant for Salish Snow Sports, the registering parent or legal guardian acknowledges that they have reviewed and agree to these Terms & Conditions and applicable program policies.
Participation may also require acceptance of separate waivers, releases, transportation rules, resort agreements, and other documents.
